Story behind the song
No story, just an emotion.
Lyrics
Crooked signs And blacked out lines Legacies we leave behind Memories fade Into the truth you make them now Feed the rich Starve the poor With profits to move offshore The crooks that gave you wealth Just stole it back Some days everything is sideways Can't get a grip It's like a bad trip Stuck in mirrored hallways And some days everything is sideways Sometimes right side up Is upside down When everything is sideways Brown is black And young is old Religion's marketed and sold And banks get bailouts While they wipe your credit out Some days everything is sideways Can't get a grip It's like a bad trip Stuck in mirrored hallways And some days everything is sideways Sometimes right side up Is upside down When everything is sideways Some days everything is sideways Can't get a grip It's like a bad trip Stuck in mirrored hallways And some days everything is sideways If clarity is lost Can it be found When everything is sideways

I know you submitted this to my review thread, but I just don't have the time to do reviews for anyone, but I wanted to leave you a long comment anyway. Don't forget to send me the instrumental for 'When will I let you go'. Ok now the track at hand. Overall, another great song. I like your lyrics the best on this one, but everything else works too. Your guitar playing is sounding good and this has a nice hook. Mostly all I can say is it could use a guitar solo during the break in the middle and you could do more with this in the instrumental area although I know that area does not come as easily. More subtle parts would bring out the song even more. Your voice is wonderful as always. Thanks for sharing and sorry it took me so long to get this one. I had several music jobs come up lately plus trip.

Another great song. Also Im totally into this type of message! And you put it in a real neat way, kind of out of the box thinking! Very good!

Outstanding!! Wonderful vocals and composition as expected, the big suprise for me is how fast you're growing as a guitar player.

Hey, I really like this one! Yes, I know the feeling on both a personal & political level--and that's where this one goes. Your guitar playing is stronger all the time--live shows will be next I think? And, as always, your vocal is so convincing--wonderful singing. As for your mic question...in a recent discussion in the recording thread, John Scrip of Massive Mastering recommends the relatively inexpensive Shure SM7B @ $349.00. He's raved about this mic several times before in this forum for its value/quality, and he's a guy who truly knows his equipment. That said, I don't have one. My own choice for acoustic guitar is a Neumann KM-184, considerably more expensive at about $850 street. And all of that said, the pre-amp is the thing that makes all of the difference, especially with acoustic recordings.
