Story behind the song
No big story here, I am afraid to say. Just my take on current events, but from a more faith-based perspective.... the 50,000 foot view if you will.
Lyrics
With a picture of the open pastures Far beyond this wall The hills, the lakes the valleys captured Lost to this great fall Reaching out beyond our borders We stretch our hands with power Not with might from this world order But strength born for this hour Be free, be seen, and be heard Be strong, be true to your word Lift, pass the darkness of this wall Rise up and cast off the pall Lift pass the darkness of this wall to the light We have been made to be free Envisioning the grey geared machines They’ve clammed up our hearts The sunlight in the sight of our minds Eclipsed and held apart Stretching out beyond our prisons Our eyes lift to the sky Why work we another’s mission? Let’s do yours and mine Be free, be seen, and be heard Be strong, be true to your word Lift past the darkness of this wall Rise up and cast off the pall Lift past the darkness of this wall to the light We have been made to be free
